About Cicelee Y. Chappelle
When I began practicing yoga, it was strictly as a means to cross-train my body. It then became my primary form of exercise and replaced my gym workouts as I no longer felt that I needed to break my body down in order to build it up. Thus after years of life in New York City working in the demanding, competitive fashion industry and within the confines of stressful, ruthless Wall St., yoga became my sanctuary for healing my mind and spirit, releasing struggle, and staying centered. As my passion for yoga grew, so did the conviction that I should share this wonderful gift with as many people as I could. To that end I immersed myself in teacher trainings with some of the best senior teachers in New York City and emerged from them a fully committed yoga teacher. So when I relocated to my beloved hometown of Philadelphia in 2011, I brought with me a dedication to serving the community through teaching. Now, more than 10 years later and having taught thousands of students in NYC and throughout the Philadelphia region, my daily intention is to share the gift of yoga through classes that focus on the healing power of breath, coordinated with mindful movement as a means to purify the body and still the mind.
